• Is it mandatory to hire a guide to visit Machu Picchu?

  The presence of a tour guide is not mandatory, but keep in mind that Machu Picchu is known for the mysteries and history it holds in every street and temple of the citadel, so having a guide who can provide you with all this information is highly recommended.

• How long does the guided tour of Machu Picchu last?

  The tour lasts approximately two hours, during which you’ll visit each important point of the Machu Picchu citadel in detail, depending on the type of ticket you’ve pre-booked. (It does not include travel to the nearby mountains or other remote destinations, unless you opt for a private service.)

• What are the guided tours’ times?

  For shared services, there are three schedules: 7:00 am, 9:00 am and 10:00 am For those who hire the private service, there is no specific schedule, since the tourist can choose it, which provides greater flexibility.

• In what language is the guidance provided?

  The shared service offers guides in Spanish or English. If you require a different language, such as French, Portuguese, German, Italian, or others, you must request a private service.

• Does the guide accompany you during the climb to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain?

  Note this! This service is not included in the package, whether you book a private or shared tour. However, if you would like a guide to accompany you during the ascent of any of the mountains, you can request it as long as you book the private service. This option has an additional cost, which must be informed in advance and is not included in the standard rate.

• Does the tour guide service include pick-up at the train station?

  Regardless of whether you booked a private or shared service, pickup at the train station is not included. However, there is a small chance that your guide can pick you up in the town of Aguas Calientes, provided they are located there. Otherwise, your guide will wait for you near the entrance gate to Machu Picchu.

• Is the guided service private or shared?

  When you make your reservation, you’ll find both options so you can choose the one you prefer. Remember to enter your information and travel date correctly to avoid any setbacks. It’s also very important to book in advance so everything is ready for you.

• Where do I meet the guide on the day of the tour?

• Can the tour be rescheduled in case of delays?
