4 exclusive entrances to Machu Picchu

Having had a thorough review of the new routes of Machu Picchu, we decided to group four of these tickets that allow a simple tour and especially very close to Machu Picchu. In short, with any of these 4 entrances you can have a rewarding and enriching experience. These 4 tickets will help you to have a better approach to the Inca site. These are the 4 tickets:

  • Machu Picchu and Classic Circuit (lower terrace) – Entrance very similar to the classic circuit 2. Except that now the entrance will not be through the Upper Platform. This entrance allows a tour through the small streets of Machu Picchu and appreciate the architectural details up close. In addition, it allows a photograph near the upper platform to have the classic postcard photo. The tour time is 2 hours and 30 minutes approx.
  • Machu Picchu and Classic Circuit – This entry is a variant of the previous one. It allows a very similar tour only with a more direct entrance and leaving behind the postcard photo. However, you will be able to appreciate part of the stone carvings that shape the walls of the main temples and the small streets of the place. It is a very popular entrance for the tour that allows inside the Inca citadel.
  • Machu Picchu and Lower Route – This entrance is another one that will allow you to know part of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. As its name says, it allows a tour of the temples of the lower part of the citadel. In addition, it is a simple route to perform. So it is quite ideal for people who do not want to complicate their journey and do it in a completely safe way.
  • Machu Picchu with classic postcard photo – This entrance belongs to the panoramic routes so it is ideal to take pictures. The tour focuses on the upper platform and the viewpoints that it has, both from the Guardian’s House and the other viewpoints that can be found nearby. A contemplative option and at the same time easy to do.

Entrance Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu

The entrance to Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu is probably the most requested entrance. This is because it allows you to reach the mountain’s summit, passing through Inca constructions and part of the Qhapac Ñam or Inca Trail. Like the panoramic routes, it allows a beautiful view of the entire Machu Picchu site and part of the geography of the place.

Another positive factor that allows you to make this entrance, is that before starting the hike to the mountain, you can have a tour of the lower temples of Machu Picchu. So it is possible to know a little more of the Inca citadel. This will also be possible just at the time of returning from Huayna Picchu. It is really one of the best options, recommended by many.

Entrance Machu Picchu + Mountain

The entrance of Machu Picchu + Mountain is surely the favorite for those who wish to make the panoramic routes. This ticket allows the tour to the top of the highest mountain of the site. This mountain practically surrounds the entire archaeological site of Machu Picchu. At the top you can appreciate one of the most amazing viewpoints of the place for the views it allows.

At the beginning of the tour, you enter towards the upper platform of Machu Picchu. From this place you can take the famous postcard photograph and also make a brief tour of other viewpoints near the Guardian’s House that allow you to take more pictures that go beyond the postcard photo. It is one of the entrances that allow you to contemplate all the splendor of Machu Picchu.

Entrance Machu Picchu + Huchuy Picchu

The entrance to Machu Picchu with Huchuy Picchu, allows a short tour of the Inca citadel. This is only for the lower part and some temples. In addition to reaching the Sacred Rock. The walk to the Huchuy Picchu or “Small Mountain”, is part of the Inca trails and the remains of an Inca construction.

This ticket allows a simple tour of the citadel and even to the top of this mountain. The hike is only 30 minutes and the tour around Machu Picchu can last up to 2 hours and 30 minutes. So it is one of the most recommended options, especially for the high season. This is the season in which the entire route can be done.

Entrance Machu Picchu + Inca Bridge

The entrance to Machu Picchu + Inca Bridge is one of the tickets that were modified to be valid only during the high season. In this sense, you can only do the tour to the Inca Bridge from June 1st to October 15th. One of the main benefits of this ticket is that it allows you to have a postcard photo.

In addition, it is one of the best alternatives to the low availability that usually happens during the high season. The hike to the Inca Bridge follows trails of the Qhapac Ñam, in that sense you can make a simple journey of only 30 minutes to the place having the opportunity to see some birds, insects and flora of the place. This entrance belongs to the panoramic route so it only allows a tour of the upper platform and the destination in question or Inca Bridge.

Entrance Machu Picchu + Inti Punku

The entrance to Machu Picchu + Inti Punku is another of the entrances that will be available during the high season. That is, from June 1st to October 15th. Inti Punku is located in the sector that belongs to the panoramic route. In such sense, it allows to appreciate and to have the postcard photo together with other views that are in the superior platform. So you can take a postcard photo of the place.

The hike to Inti Punku will start from the upper platform. The route is along the Inca Trail or also known as Qhapac Ñam. In addition, the Inti Punku, connects precisely with the Inca Trail hiking route of 4 or 2 days of walking. So in the place you can find some other Inca constructions. The view from this place is one of the best views of the archaeological site.

Entrance Machu Picchu + Temple of the Moon

One of the most awaited entrances by many tourists is the one that covers the route of the Temple of the Moon. This construction is located on the Royal Route, so it is possible to make a short tour of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. After that, when you reach the Sacred Rock you can make the hike to the Temple of the Moon.

In the temple of the moon you can find Inca constructions and one of the temples that lies between two caverns and large stones. This temple presents an important construction in reference to fertility. To date, few people have reached this enigmatic place. Now it is possible to arrive, but only during the high season, that is to say from June 1st to October 15th.

Machu Picchu official high season

Another of the most important changes that were made regarding the entrance tickets to Machu Picchu, is that you can find an official high season. The date that comprises the high season is from June 1st to October 15th. In this sense, the regular season will begin the rest of the year. That is, from October 16 to May 31. The reason for this decision is to increase the availability of tickets in the high season, in addition to adding new tickets or types of tickets to Machu Picchu.
