These are the four entrances to Machupicchu:

Ticket ‘Machupicchu + Huaynapicchu’ – It is the most difficult entrance to get in Machu Picchu. It allows you to visit the archaeological site and the Huaynapicchu mountain. It has availability for 200 people a day.
Ticket ‘Machupicchu + Mountain’ – It is the best adventurous alternative for tourists who did not get availability for the Huayna Picchu mountain. It allows you to visit the archaeological site and the Machupicchu mountain. It has availability for 400 people a day.
Ticket ‘Machupicchu + Huchuy Picchu’ – This adventurous option was recently inaugurated by the authorities of Cusco. It allows you to visit the archaeological site and the new Huchuy Picchu mountain. It has availability for 200 people a day.

When making the purchase of your ticket it is necessary to choose one of the available schedules:
Entrance ‘Machupicchu Only’ – There are nine different entrance times: from 6 am, 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm and 2 pm. Each schedule offers up to 4 hours of visits.
Entrance ‘Machupicchu + Huaynapicchu’ – There are four different entrance times. The first allows you to enter Machu Picchu from 6 am and Huaynapicchu between 7 am and 8 am. The second allows entering Machu Picchu from 7 am and Huaynapicchu between 8 am and 9 am. The third allows entering Machu Picchu from 8 am and Huaynapicchu between 9 am and 10 am. Finally, the third allows entering Machu Picchu from 9 am and Huaynapicchu between 10 am and 11 am.
Entrance ‘Machupicchu + Mountain’ – There are two different entrance times. The first allows entering Machu Picchu from 6 am and the mountain between 7 am and 8 am. The second allows entering Machu Picchu from 7 am and the mountain between 8 am and 9 am.
Entrance ‘Machupicchu + Huchuy Picchu’ – There are 8 different entrance times: from 6 am (to the mountain from 7 am to 8 am), from 7 am (to the mountain from 8 am to 9 am), from 8 am (to the mountains from 9 am to 10 am), from 9 am (to the mountains from 10 am to 11 am), from 10 am (to the mountains from 11 am to 12 am), from 11 am (to the mountains from 12 am to 1 pm), from 12 pm (to the mountains from 1 pm to 2 pm) and from 1 pm (to the mountains from 2 pm to 3 pm).
How to buy tickets?
Entrance tickets to Machu Picchu can be purchased online or at authorized offices in the city of Cusco.
If you do it online, you must enter the official website: www.machupicchu.gob.pe. This option is highly recommended as availability is limited. Especially in the case of the entrance ticket to the Huayna Picchu mountain. This ticket must be purchased 3 or 4 months before.
If you do it in person, you must buy the tickets at the following offices in Cusco:
- Street Maruri 324, Cusco. (Local of the Disconcerted Directorate of Culture Cusco).
- Street Garcilaso s/n, Cusco. (Local of Casa Garcilaso).
- Avenue Pachacutec s/n. (near the Main Square of Aguas Calientes).
The purchase of tickets in person is not recommended since they are subject to availability.
To make the purchase online, payment must be made with a credit or debit card. The purchase in person can be done with a card or cash.
Additional information about Machu Picchu entrance tickets
In the high tourist season (May, June, July and August) it is necessary to buy the ticket to Machu Picchu online.
Both Machu Picchu and the mountains are open to the public every day of the year, except for emergencies.
Children under 3 years old enter Machu Picchu for free. To do this, they only need to show their identity document or passport at the door of the archaeological site.
At the time of entering Machu Picchu, tourists must show their entrance and the identity document or passport with which they made the purchase. Otherwise you will not be allowed to enter the Inca citadel.
