Prices for the bus trip to Machu Picchu
The bus tickets allow the trip from the town of Aguas Calientes to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. This trip is short because it only covers 10 kilometers of the Hiram Bingham highway. The bus tickets
The tickets allow the bus trip on the route Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu . With two tickets you can also make the return leg Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes.
The tickets are marketed by the company Consettur, who offer spacious, comfortable and, very importantly, ecological buses as they do not pollute the beautiful nature that surrounds Machu Picchu.
Bus tickets can be purchased in the town of Aguas Calientes on the day of the trip. Availability is very wide so no tourist will be left without boarding the bus. It is also possible to buy it online or in the city of Cusco.
The ticket is valid for three days, for the day chosen for the tourist as well as one day before or after.
The official rates are those published by the company Consettur. At some times of the year they may vary slightly.

Discounts
Bus tickets offer discounts for Peruvian university students, children (foreigners or Peruvians from 5 to 11 years of age) as well as promotional rates for people from Cusco, tour guides and inhabitants of the town of Machu Picchu.
To access this discount, you only need to make your purchase by showing your identity document or passport that verifies your age, nationality or location. Guides must show their official certified guide card.
All children under 5 years of age can travel for free if they do so on the lap of their father, mother or guardian. If they travel in their own seat, they must pay the ‘children’ fare.

Bus tickets can be purchased at the following addresses in Cusco:
- Infancia Avenue 433, city of Cusco. (Open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm. On Sundays from 8 am to 1 pm.)
- Street Mayta Cápac s/n, town of Aguas Calientes (open Monday to Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm).

More information about prices
At the entrance gate to Machu Picchu there is also a module where you can buy the bus ticket for the return leg: from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes. The rates there are the same as the ones you can get in the town of Aguas Calientes.
Bus tickets can be shown both physically and digitally through an electronic device such as a cell phone. In both cases, to board the bus, the visitor must also show their ticket to Machu Picchu.
Bus tickets can be purchased in US dollars or Peruvian soles. The currency exchange is done according to the updated exchange rate in the country and shown by the Consettur company at its service window. It is also possible to pay with credit or debit cards.
Tourists who do not wish to use the bus can walk the route Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Aguas Calientes. However, this route is demanding and takes 2 hours or more to complete. In any case, it is recommended for young tourists. The route is free for everyone.
